Conveyor Considerations

11 Weeks Until MODEX 2018

During MODEX 2018 in Atlanta, April 9 – 12, Alfacon Solutions, a global manufacturer of flexible, rigid and telescopic conveyors to the material handling industry, will launch a new quick-connect reconfigurable conveyor system. This innovative system is engineered to instantly assemble, link, disassemble, and rearrange conveyor lines to make loading, unloading, and sortation processes faster and more efficient. As the most versatile conveying system available with rapid delivery dates, it is easily configured and re-configured to suit customers’ current and future warehouse management requirements.

This system was developed to provide growing customers with a more cost-effective solution to improve the efficiency of fluid loading and unloading processes. Many distribution centers are engaged in both e-commerce fulfillment directly to customers as well as store replenishment. Alfacon Solutions which just moved to a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant a half an hour from Toronto Pearson International Airport, recognized a growing need for speed and efficiency for these distribution centers to optimize multiple operations while minimizing setup times and space requirements of conveying equipment.

Thanks to a favorable exchange rate and lean manufacturing processes, Alfacon Solutions will share with MODEX attendees how this solution provides automation at a lower cost entry point with the flexibility to reconfigure loading areas for changing product dimensions and volumes.

The entire system locks together solidly with similar characteristics of a bolted rigid conveyor, but offers much more flexibility with its ability to move on casters. All conveyor sections operate on 110V electrical current and are married together with easy-latching connections that reduce complexity and minimize on-site engineering. This allows warehouse activities to be back up and running quickly and efficiently.

Rigid reconfigurable conveyors can easily be combined with these flexible products for complete and versatile system solutions. Automated flow controls deliver added efficiencies including improved ergonomics, reduced labor costs, and improved service life.

For decades, Alfacon Solutions has designed and manufactured products and services for truck loading and unloading applications. Alfacon Solutions is the conveyor brand which is poised to lead the market in flexible gravity and powered conveyors while expanding the premier telescopic and rigid belted conveyor systems. Known worldwide for their durability and reliability, products are engineered to support material handling applications for distribution centers, e-commerce, parcel post, retail stores, and a variety of manufacturers to help maximize productivity and increase efficiency.

Alfacon Solutions delivers trusted end-to-end process solutions for customers and partners through engineering and integration expertise, project management, and operational excellence. With worldwide sales distribution and service networks, Alfacon Solutions provides immediate and lifetime aftermarket support to all the markets served.

Alfacon Solutions (https://alfaconsolutions.com) will be exhibiting at MODEX 2018 April 9-12, 2018 in Atlanta, GA at booth #B637 and presenting an educational seminar called Adaptive Conveying on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM in Theater I. The presentation will provide attendees an overview of a configurable conveying solution and how to integrate conveying solutions into automated vehicles.
