On February 1, 2018 – Alfacon Solutions relocated to a new, better equipped, modern facility at 180 Market Drive, Milton, Ontario. Located just west of Toronto, Milton is fast becoming a hub for manufacturing and industrial companies. The move will facilitate Alfacon’s ongoing growth by providing ready access to a large pool of engineering, project management and manufacturing talent.
Situated just minutes south of Highway 401, North America’s busiest highway and Canada’s transportation backbone for goods and materials flowing between USA and Canada. This would allow Alfacon to serve its customers in a more timely and efficient manner.
Alfacon Solutions went through a shift in brand strategy and accomplished a significant transformation of strengthening business processes. The new identity satisfies all of the expectations of what the company has always stood for: high quality engineered material handling equipment. Alfacon strives to move the brand forward while acknowledging the need for continued maturity, diversity and functionality of the entire product and service range offered.
On September 24, 2015 – Scott Monteith, President and CEO of Monteco Ltd. announced that Monteco acquired a controlling interest in D.S. Handling Systems Limited.

Aiming to offer an even wider selection of in-stock products, DS Handling Systems moved to its current location at 595 Riddell Road, Orangeville, Ontario. The facility includes a full service control panel shop, state of the art paint facilities that are large enough to paint structures up to 50’ long, and sizable additions to staff office space.
All company welding supervisors and welding engineers as well as operators are qualified under the the CWB(Canadian Welding Bureau) certification – CSA 47.1 standard. The company’s welding procedures were reviewed and approved under the same standard.
DS Handling Systems developed this product as an addition to the CUNA line but also as a valuable addition to our manually operated extendable line of truck loading equipment.
By adding new product lines and resources, DS Handling Systems was able to service its market with unparalleled service on turnkey systems, control systems, conveyor components and spare parts supply.
The Business Excellence Award in Manufacturing was issued by the local Board of Trade for the category “Manufacturers with more than 25 employees”.
The CUNA Flexible Conveyor line provided a far more technically advanced system than what was available to the North American Market at the time.
As more capacity was needed, the company decided to invest in a larger facility of 53,500 sq. ft to better serve an increasing customer base.
DS Handling decided to develop its service offering and provide electrical engineering services in-house rather than outsource. This also marked the beginning of in-house manufacturing of proprietary control panels and systems.
As the company established itself and developed nation-wide coverage, a decision was made to move from Brampton, ON into a 10,000 sq. ft. facility in Orangeville, ON. This also provided DS Handling access to a valuable workforce market.
DS Handling System’s first projects were installations of conveyor equipment. Purolator, Xerox and Proctor and Gamble were among the first customers to recognize the high quality solutions offered by the company. After the first year success, DS Handling was awarded distributorships by many manufacturers in the conveyor industry.
