Alfacon Solutions Helps Manufacturers and Warehouses Maximize Conveyor Space by Going Up
With Amazon and other big e-commerce operations gobbling up factories and warehouses space is difficult to come by. Whether a new manufacturing facility or an existing structure, ramping up production without the appropriate planning can lead to workplace congestion as people and machinery fight for space. One way to open up the plant floor is to move conveyor operations up and out of the way; creating layout and construction options that are not easily available with ground-level systems.

Faster Conveyor Speeds Possible without Compromising Precise Product Placement
Although most conveying systems used for end-of-line packaging operations run at less than 300 feet-per-minute, faster conveyor speeds could sometimes be utilized on straight conveyor sections for high-volume throughput of lightweight, low-profile products. Alfacon Solutions provides specialty conveyor systems for packaging lines, capable of reaching faster speeds while maintaining product stability.

Alfacon Solutions Provides Friction Free Zoned Accumulation For MDR Conveyors
Many MDR (Motor Driven Roller) conveyor users in the postal industry often must deal with damage and wear on 24VDC motorized drive rollers. The primary reason for these issues is resistance caused by the drive rollers when manually sorting product off a line. This friction can cause damage and eventual failure to the electrical components.
Alfacon Solutions took this challenge on and designed a unique “friction free” zoned accumulation conveyor for the postal industry. This design still utilizes MDR 24VDC roller technology with leading edge energy efficiency, but not in the carrying rollers. Alfacon Solutions’ unique slip sleeve drive system allows for parcel stalling on the carrying rollers, with no effect on the electrical components.
